Prof. Gianluigi Franci Selected as ESCMID Local Champion for Clinical Microbiology
The Italian Society of Microbiology (SIM) proudly announces the selection of Prof. Gianluigi Franci as the ESCMID Local Champion for Clinical Microbiology, a prestigious role within the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases ESCMID. This recognition underscores Prof. Franci’s significant contributions to the field and his dedication to promoting excellence in clinical microbiology.
The “ESCMID Local Champions” initiative aims to strengthen the presence and influence of ESCMID on a regional level by selecting leading professionals who advocate for the Society’s mission and actively support its activities. As an ESCMID Local Champion, Prof. Franci will play a key role in fostering scientific collaboration, promoting membership, and encouraging participation in ESCMID educational and scientific events across Italy. His responsibilities will also include advertising ESCMID grants, observerships, and professional opportunities, especially to young investigators and underrepresented regions.
Prof. Franci’s expertise and leadership will further enhance SIM‘s international presence, aligning with ESCMID’s goals of advancing the fight against antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and emerging infections.
